A large proportion of the district is zoned for residential development. The district is currently served by the Circle Line and East-West Line via Paya Lebar, Eunos, and Aljunied MRT stations. There is a wide coverage of bus service connecting passengers to and fro the Central Business District as well. Joo Chiat was zoned as a conservation area in 1993. As a major financial and business hub, the Central Region stands as the dynamic city centre of Singapore. Spanning 13,150ha in land area, the region hosts Singapore's only UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to many of the country's national monuments, such as the Merlion Park and Statue of Raffles. Although the region is designated mainly for commercial activities, it houses residential developments ranging from HDBs to bungalows. There is also plenty of greenery in the region, linked by 19km of park connectors. According to the Master Plan 2019, Orchard and Downtown will be rejuvenated as a lifestyle hub to include more mixed developments which offer live, work and play opportunities. New housing will be constructed in the Marina South Area with community facilities and amenities. Stage-6 of the Circle Line opening by 2025 will also enhance the Central Region's connectivity.

"I agree the food is good .. but there is no infrastructure or manpower to attend to customers. When I walked in, I saw 3 tables and 3 food delivery drivers waiting I wanted to take away order.. there was no staff to even talk for 10 mins .. just stood there at the counter .. after ordering also there was a long wait the experience to get the food on the table or hand should be smoother"

"It is a nice place to get small bites throughout the day. It is relatively low cost and does not compromise on the quality of food. Waiting time is also quite less which is extremely positive. Ultimately, the food is savory and amazing. Another unique thing about this restaurant is that it has a mini-bazaar that you can buy traditional Indian snacks in (packets). There is also an appetizing sweet display that you can have some authentic sweets from. This place is a must-try!"

"Good food. But there is always something that is not so good. Consistency is an issue here."
